The Moon sets behind the temple of Poseidon at Sounio
While on an Alaskan cruise, we had the pleasure of making a quick stop in Victoria, the capital of British Columbia, Canada. It was a perfect summer night to wander the streets, ice cream cone in hand. On the night we visited, street performers occupied the harbor area in front of the beautifully lit Legislative Building (photos 1 & 2), and the famous Empress Hotel (photo 3). The streets are lined with lots of cool shops and restaurants, creating a beautiful mix of British and Canadian culture. Make sure to stop at Oh Gelato on Government Street for great gelato and fudge!
Travel Tip: The Victoria Clipper is a passenger-only ferry that brings visitors from downtown Seattle right into Inner Harbor, the heart of downtown Victoria! The ferry ride is only about 2 hours and around $100, making Victoria a great weekend getaway, or day trip from the Seattle area! For more information, check out the Victoria Clipper website.
I was born less than an hour north of this city. That island always feels like home to me whenever I return.
The perception from others is not what defines you. Your own perception of you defines you. Today, don’t worry about what others think, go out in the world and start being who you want to be. -Michael
I’ve never once let the opinion of others shape who I am and who I want to become. All that’s ever mattered to me is becoming the person I want to be and living the life I want to live. I’m not quite there yet but I’m working on it.
